Occupational Therapy
- Our experienced occupational therapists (OT’s) work with clients to return them to independence with activities of daily living (e.g. grooming/bathing/dressing) to be able to engage in community activities.
- Rehabilitation post shoulder surgery, stroke recovery training, hand motor skill retraining, home modifications and adaptive equipment training are some of the many areas we work hard to improve.
- Caregivers are an essential part of a client’s program with training provided to ensure safety, effectiveness and carryover of learned skills and exercise programs.
Lymphedema Management
- Lymphedema is the build up of a protein rich fluid essential for our immune system to function. The lymphatic system works with our circulatory system for movement of fluid throughout the body.
- Excessive build up occurs due to genetics (Primary Lymphedema) or caused by damage (Secondary Lymphedema) as a result of an infection (e.g. cellulitis), surgical procedures or cancer treatments (e.g. radiation)
- Additionally, we are experienced with and perform wound and skin care management and complete compression fittings.
Post-OP Lymphatic Care
- If you have had surgery that may have affected your lymphatic system, our post-surgical lymphedema care can help you manage any symptoms you may be experiencing. We will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and can provide education on self-care techniques and the use of compression garments.
